Flying Welshman Mark Edwards takes a double win at Horse of the Year Show

Making his trip from south-east Wales well worth the trip, Mark Edwards wins two back-to-back international showjumping classes on day three at Horse of the Year Show. Mark was in flying form with his eight-year-old stallion Dillinger NE to take the opening Grandstand Welcome Stakes at the prestigious horse show held at the NEC in Birmingham. Mark was amongst one of the first riders to go and he set the bar high jumping clear and stopping the clock on 30.60 seconds. Final rides and new beginnings on day three of Horse of the Year Show

The stage was set once more for the working hunter ponies at Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) 2023, as the National Pony Society/Mole Valley Farmers Working Hunter Pony of the Year Championship got underway over David Cole’s course in the TopSpec Arena. 14-year-old Samuel Laity posted an emotional win on the grey gelding, Barney IX, in the 133cm section and later went on to stand overall Champion in the Andrews Bowen International Arena. Allana Clutterbuck hails the biggest win of her career taking the Redpost Equestrian Senior Foxhunter Championship 2023

Allana Clutterbuck rose to the occasion to clinch the win in the Redpost Equestrian Senior Foxhunter Championship on day two at Horse of the Year Show. Once dubbed by Horse and Hound as an up-and-coming talent, the 22-year-old rider from Essex proved them right tonight under the spotlight of the Andrews Bowen International Arena. There were just four riders through to the jump off and Allana was last to go. The 10-year-old bay gelding Dirk IV covered the ground with great prominence and was deceivingly quick. Thursday’s evening performance at Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) saw two prestigious Championships play out in the Andrews Bowen International Arena. Day two at Horse of the Year Show held at the NEC in Birmingham is the day for dressage enthusiasts. Inviting forward eight of the most promising young dressage horses of Great Britain, the Championship showcases an Intermediate I Freestyle to music for eligible horses aged between eight and ten years old. Katie Bradburne lifts her first HOYS title in the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship

Dreams became reality for Katie Bradburne on day two at Horse of the Year Show as she added her name to the illustrious list of past winners for the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship. One of those names includes her brother, Thomas Bradburne, who won the title in 2021 aged 14.
