Becky, who is based in Penistone just outside Sheffield, posted a score of more than 84% on eight-year-old Jagerbomb, and as a home-bred it made her victory all the more special.
Becky claimed an outstanding triumph from Alice Oppenheimer and Headmore Dionysus in second, with Sarah Higgins and Samuel taking third.
“It was an amazing performance,” said an elated Becky. “He is a horse that keeps on giving, and it is extra special because I bred him. We have done everything together.
“He is getting better and better, and I am super-excited. He really shows a talent for the grand prix work.
“I have been away on holiday, and I rode him for the first time back yesterday, so we came here with a very laid-back approach. He just pulls it out of the bag. He is a champ.”
Inspired by her success in Birmingham, it will be an important stepping stone in terms of moving Jagerbomb to the next level and performing on the grand prix circuit.
“The thing now is that he has to go to the next level. I now have to get him consolidated at grand prix,” Becky added.
“Next year, he will go grand prix, and it is about rolling with it when you get one like this and see how far you can get.
“I hope he can be a top grand prix horse on the international stage. When he started showing the talent for the grand prix work, it is his attitude that shines through. He just copes.”
