We are delighted to announce the first Horse of the Year Show entertainment display of 2021; returning by popular demand The Pony Club Musical Ride will be thrilling audiences with a new display of spectacular choreography, music, outfits and superb horsemanship.
Following their brief debut appearance with ’90 Years From Now – The Pony Club’s 90th Anniversary celebrations’ on the Friday of HOYS 2019, the event was over-whelmed by the response from the audience, and consequently invited the young riders back as a feature display to perform on each day of the show this year.
The young riders from East Cheshire Pony Club are once again set to delight the Andrews Bowen International Arena with a magical act from the team of young riders aboard their mounts, ranging from Shetlands to larger horses. Combining a variety of pace, dressage movements with a little light comedy in this thoroughly entertaining performance; a perfect interlude to the nail-biting competition and certainly the uplifting live entertainment that we have all missed this past year!
Masterminded by Susan Goodridge and set to music compiled by husband Mark, the riders ranging from 6 to 22 years-of-age guarantee to astonish and delight, you won’t want to miss to their spell-binding display at Horse of the Year Show 2021.
Geoff Bell, District Commissioner of the East Cheshire Branch of the Pony Club, commented: “It is a great honour for the branch to be invited back to HOYS this year to present a brand-new display after a very difficult year for all nations and to contribute to the equestrian events world as it begins its return to normality. Susan Goodridge, and her dedicated support team have put together an amazing display, blending exciting music with superb horsemanship on the part of the young riders – with just a little magic thrown in. Horse of the Year Show is an event that all pony clubbers, and the rest of the equestrian world want to behold – HOYS 2021 is a must see! In the words of youngest rider Emi Gandy (age 6); ‘It will be better than Christmas’.”
