Hosted by the same team behind HOYS, the weekend will bring together three standout occasions: The Showing Register (TSR) Amateur of the Year Show Final, Thistledown Stud Elite Pony Auction and the Showing World Awards.
TSR Amateur of the Year Show
Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th November 2025.
This is the first ever Amateur of the Year Finals. With qualifiers throughout the year – the finals are an exclusive event for amateur riders – giving them a platform to celebrate their success.
With a full classification list across Coloured, Mountain & Moorland, Hack/Riding Horse, Cob, Hunter, Riding Club, and more, this is where the best amateurs of the season come to shine.
Whether you’re already qualified or simply keen to soak up the atmosphere of one of the most vibrant amateur finals in the UK and see if it’s something you want to aim for next year – this is your weekend.

Thistledown Stud Elite Pony Auction
On Saturday 29 November, as part of the weekend, join the inaugural Thistledown Stud Elite Pony Auction – a spectacular sale of carefully selected riding ponies and youngstock.
Celebrating 35 years of breeding excellence, Thistledown’s ponies have earned a remarkable 185 HOYS tickets, eight HOYS Championships and one Supreme Championship, a testament to quality and achievement.
The sale will include:
- 30 ponies across Section A, B & C and Riding Pony types.
- Two-thirds of the ponies will be broken and ridden away
- The auction will include some in hand youngsters that have been shown in hand and ready to break -including the Youngstock Champion from The Royal Welsh Show.
- A variety of budgets – from unbroken to professionally broken ponies.

Showing World Awards
A highlight of the weekend has to be the Showing World Awards on Saturday 29 November – the ultimate celebration of the showing community.
Held at Stoneleigh Park, the evening includes a sparkling reception, three-course gala dinner and festive entertainment.
Originally launched in 2009, the awards honour outstanding individuals, ponies and horses who have made a major impact both in and out of the ring.
