Isabelle Townsend

My superstar 11 year old Connemara pony
Hollywood Princess Rosie and I have been trying to qualify for the Horse Of The Year Show this year in the Newcomers and Foxhunter second rounds from the very first qualifier.
In her first competition season last year Rosie came very close to qualifying for HOYS in the Newcomers, and also missed out by one place in the 143 plaited working hunter pony. This summer has been her first trying the Foxhunter second rounds.
She tried so hard in them all, giving her absolute best, jumping clears in both classes and ending up coming 5th twice and actually 4th, but with a pole in the Foxhunter so not quite enough to quality.
We were all still so proud of her for just doing as well as she did but at WHPI she exceeded all expectations and jumped her heart out for a triple clear in the Newcomers giving us the opportunity to achieve our dream of jumping in the main arena at HOYS.
Our journey to qualifying has taught us both so much about determination and not giving up and we can’t wait to compete together at the Horse Of The Year Show!
