We’re just a normal little family living on our family farm. We’ve never had the world when it comes to horses and training facilities but by gosh don’t we feel like we have the world in our hands now.
3 and a half years ago, My Daughter Holley who is 11 years old was blessed with a pony on loan, who’s worth his weight in gold and has the heart of a lion.
Bob came in and gave us the bug, the bug that has no return! This cheeky little exmoor has the biggest fan club to date. There’s not a competition that we attend where he’s not recognised.
It was a risk popping Holley on board at 8yrs old challenging the open workers. Some times being a blink and your miss it style. But with lots of practice and advice from Lisa Bobs owner we felt we could conquer the world. Chasing that golden ticket to compete at Horse of the year show has not only been a childhood dream of mine but now to have my daughter living that dream too just makes it that “oh so much more special”
2023 was Holleys and Bobs first full season chasing that dream. And with the new Junior m&m workers class meant they may actually be in with a chance. Managing to grab their ticket at stoneleigh 2023 was a memorable moment one I’ll never forget.
Now track forward a year and she’s chasing that dream for the final year.
A 17 year old Bob and 11 year old Holley attended New forest show. New show ground to us so lots of nerves, but the smashed it, clear and a beautiful little show. Taking the 1st place and the all important ticket!! We were in disbelief that much so we didn’t cheer at first as we thought they had called reverse order.
Our ambition in life as a small family team, is to be living proof that you don’t need to have everything and all the money in the world. You are who you make yourself, if you want something bad enough then try hard enough. Believe in yourself and your make it. We have our high days and gosh don’t we have our low days. But it’s what turns us around and makes us that bit stronger and want it that bit more. This is why getting to HOYs is so special to us. We did it!!
