“Eleven years after winning at Horse of the Year Show, qualifying again feels incredibly special. Gracey has completely transformed over the years.
“She was never the fastest horse, but after I lost my once-in-a-lifetime speed horse, NPS Andre, she stepped up in ways I never imagined.
“Somehow, she found her own need for speed, while staying unbelievably careful, and together we’ve become a partnership that trusts each other completely. Finishing second in such a competitive semi-final to secure our HOYS ticket is a moment I’ll never forget.
“Reaching the Bronze League Final is no easy feat, requiring riders to first qualify for the semifinals through league points or a direct qualification, before earning one of the coveted HOYS places. That’s what makes this qualification feel so incredibly special.
“HOYS has always been the pinnacle of the sport for me. Walking through those famous purple curtains again after 11 years is something I never imagined I’d get to experience.
“Gracey has taught me that every horse is different and that success comes from believing in them. Watching her grow into a fast, ultra-careful competitor has been incredibly rewarding, and qualifying together is the proudest moment of our journey.
“She may never have been the obvious HOYS horse, but she has the biggest heart, and that’s what makes this qualification so special.
