Recognised by many as a steadfast and dedicated part of the HOYS family, Osborne Refrigerators Ltd has renewed their sponsorship of the Osborne Refrigerators Large Double Harness Scurry, Osborne Refrigerators Small Double Harness Scurry and the Osborne Refrigerators Harness Scurry Championship, signing on until 2027.
‘For 40 years Osborne Refrigerators has supported the Horse of the Year Show, and I am delighted that this will continue into a fifth decade.’ says Jeff Osborne of Osborne Refrigerators Ltd, ‘To me and my family, October means only one thing – Horse of the Year Show!’
The class first featured at HOYS in 1968, meaning this year sees the 57th edition of the Championship! Osborne Refrigerators Ltd owned 1987’s winning pair Mini and Sunlight, driven by John Marson. Jeff Osborne himself began competing soon after, and within his first year of driving had qualified a pair of ponies named Caption and Logo for HOYS. Jeff continues to compete to this day alongside his wife Alison, the current reigning champion of the class – the pair make a formidable team! The company has been associated with HOYS for over forty years, sponsoring a range of classes from showjumping to showing. Such was Jeff’s dedication to the show that he was awarded the Equestrian of the Year trophy in 2007.
A spokesperson for Grandstand Media comments on the renewed sponsorship, ‘As the longest standing sponsors of Horse of the Year Show, it is hard to encapsulate the depth of our gratitude to Jeff, Alison and the wider family at Osborne Refrigerators for their continued commitment to the event. As sponsors, spectators and competitors of HOYS for a significant time, Osborne Refrigerators know how much the show means to the equestrian community. We take huge pride in this invaluable partnership, which continues to thrive, benefiting all who attend and participate at Horse of the Year Show.’
You can watch all of the action of the Osborne Refrigerators Double Harness Scurry from Wednesday 8th to Saturday 11th October 2025 in the Andrews Bowen International Arena. Will Alison Osborne retain her title, or will a new challenger come to take the crown?
