Jon Doney (1949 – 2020)

We were deeply saddened to learn about the death on 1st April, of the much-respected course designer and judge, Jon Doney MBE.

Horse of the Year Show was privileged enough to feature in Jon’s remarkable career, which included working on national shows across the country as well as the World Equestrian Games, European Championships and Olympic Games.

Jon served as equestrian director for HOYS during a pivotal moment in the show’s history, providing vital insight, knowledge and guidance.

It is with a heavy heart that we wish farewell to a very respected and much-loved icon of the equestrian world. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to Jon’s wife Mary, as well as their family and friends during this very sad time.
