Dressage Future Elite Championship 2024

Dressage Future Elite Championship 2024

Laura Tomlinson and Forest Hill lit up Thursday night at the Horse of the Year Show with an outstanding display to win the Dressage Future Elite Championship.

Laura, an Olympic team gold medallist and individual bronze medallist at London 2012, showcased all her experience and quality to coax a winning score of 75.833% aboard her home-bred ride.

“I enjoyed myself,” she said. “It was his first ever Freestyle to Music and it was quite a big atmosphere, so I was delighted with how well he coped and how onside he was. I am really excited about him.

“It is not often with horses of that age that you get a chance to dip their toes into such an atmosphere and give them a chance to be exposed to something like that.

“It makes it special when you come out and have a good ride at a show like this. It is definitely as exciting as it ever was.

“It feels like whatever the challenge is he rises to it, so I will quietly work away at home and it definitely feels like he has got an exciting future ahead of him.” Eight combinations contested the HOYS dressage showcase, with Andrew Gould and Active Solaris taking second on 74.458%, while third went to Sarah Higgins and Samuel on a score of 74.167%.
