In 2018, equine feed balancer and supplement brand, Blue Chip, celebrated twenty years of support of the British Showjumping Pony Newcomers Championship. Following a successful year of alignment, British Showjumping is delighted to announce that Blue Chip will be continuing their sponsorship for a further three years.
The Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship is a notable favourite in the national calendar and it is for registered ponies in JD and JC that have not won a total of 500 points and they are to be ridden by Junior Members. Starters travel all over the country in their quest to pick up one of the coveted qualification spots for the Championship Final, which will once again take place during Horse of the Year Show at Birmingham’s NEC Resorts World Arena (2nd – 6th October 2019).
Blue Chip Feed was founded back in 1996 by Clare Blaskey and was named after her horse Blue Chip. Having had horses all of her life. Clare was keen to explore the advanced ways of feeding horses and ponies and knew that both developing veterinary science and the importance of nutrition were pivotal to this. At the time, feed balancers were a totally new concept but now they are Blue Chip’s passion and the team are always looking to deliver products that will really make a difference to horses and ponies.
Blue Chip has a feed balancer suitable for every showjumping horse or pony, and each of the balancers contain digestive aids, a comprehensive hoof, coat and respiratory supplement, a respiratory formula, nucleotides, antioxidants and oils. Blue Chip also extends their support to all British Showjumping members via an exclusive 10% discount on all online orders placed with Blue Chip. Check out the member benefits page in the Showjumping Magazine to take advantage of this offer.
Clare Blaskey said “There was no question that we would continue our sponsorship of the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship. We love how the class has helped so many young riders on their way to future stardom. Blue Chip have also been thrilled to sponsor various Pony Newcomers finalists who have then gone on to represent their country on the international circuit.”
Maria Haig, Head of Communications at British Showjumping, added “Following a successful year of commemorating Blue Chip’s longstanding support, we are delighted to be announcing their continued alignment with the illustrious Pony Newcomers Championship. Their ongoing commitment to this Championship is something that we are extremely grateful for and we are proud to be part of their sponsorship portfolio.”
Competitors have until the 30th April 2019 to qualify for the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Rounds. The Second Rounds will be held during May – July 2019 and competitors will be vying for that all important place in the Championship Final.
