“Harriett started the season of 2026 brilliantly considering she’d recently had surgery on both knee’s in a bid to straighten her legs. She was placed 2nd in the first two qualifiers, followed by a couple more close placings.
“Then, devastatingly everything changed. An unremarkable fall from a friends pony resulted in an awkward landing that caused Harriett to break her femur. She endured a very difficult week and surgery to plate her leg.
“Just two weeks later Harriett made the incredibly brave decision to travel to the RIHS with her pony Hayesbrook Double Trouble (Shadow) whom Harriett has produced completely herself from a novice. Knowing she couldn’t ride him herself, she asked her friend Libby to take over the reins. It was very elating and difficult in equal measures for us to watch him take the Win and Reserve Champion.
“Next came The New Forest Show where her best friend Poppy Rowlands rode Shadow to victory and qualified him, keeping the dream alive that Harriett might be well enough to ride him herself in the Arena of Dreams.
“Friends rallied around, helping to to keep Shadow fit in anticipation of the news we were so desperate to hear.
“Then, on Friday 11th September, Harriett finally got that news. She can ride again. Just 10 weeks post surgery for a broken femur Harriett has exactly 4 weeks preparation for her favourite show.
