“From starting side saddle at 14 on my little grey Connemara pony standing ringside watching the HOYS Ladies Show Horse class at the National Side Saddle Show I grew up believing it was the very definition of elegance… I never imagined I’d one day be in that class -living that dream.
“To win the HOYS qualifier at the Nationals is incredibly tough, so to actually do it is something little me could only have dreamed of especially being an association member meant we had SSA members we didn’t even know cheering us on the side line
“San Miguel, Mickey, was purchased to help get my riding fitness back as a disabled rider this is easier said than done and to help me reach the dreams my horse of a lifetime had left me with after his passing in 2022.
“We have only had Mickey 18 months and he is already turning into my second horse of a lifetime qualifying for both RIHS and HOYs in our 2 seasons together.
“Mickey lives at the bottom of the garden at our family home and is completely home produced we don’t have a school we practise in our local orchard or hire local arenas. Last year we achieved the first time qualified feeling at the TSR Amateurs Show however this year felt just as amazing because of the show we won our ticket at The National Side Saddle Show.”
