We’re looking for enthusiastic and personable Event Retail Assistants to join our friendly team on the Horse of the Year Show Official Merchandise Stand. Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering an exceptional customer experience to every visitor to the retail stand.
- Creating a welcoming and memorable experience for both new and returning customers.
- Acting as a problem solver, confidently handling customer enquiries.
- Supporting the set-up and pack-down of the merchandise stand, including the safe lifting, carrying, and manoeuvring of stock boxes.
- Processing sales transactions accurately and responsibly, maintaining trust through careful monetary handling.
- Sharing clear, and enthusiastic product insights to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
- Build genuine connections with customers, creating a welcome atmosphere that keeps them coming back.
- Regularly replenishing stock and organising the storeroom, which involves repetitive physical tasks including bending, reaching, and stretching.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the stand is well-presented, organised and operating efficiently throughout the event.
Personal skills required:
- Aged 18 or over
- A strong interest in retail and customer-facing environments
- Ability to maintain a high level of energy while standing, walking, and moving around the retail floor for the duration of event shifts (up to 11–12 hours).
- Passionate about Horse of the Year Show and the equestrian industry
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
- Enjoy working in a hands-on role and contributing to all aspects of the event

Retail Hours:
- Wednesday 09:00 – 20.15
- Thursday 09:00 – 20.15
- Friday 09:00 – 20.15
- Saturday 09:00 – 21:00
- Sunday 09:00 – 20.00
Due to the nature of the event, times may be flexible. Weekend work and overnight stays will be required.
