NEC traffic management will assist with parking arrangements once you arrive at the NEC. The main Horse of the Year Show designated car parks will be the North and East car parks, from which a complimentary shuttle service will run to the main entrance of the show.

Parking costs are subject to change. Please allow ample time for your journey.

Food Outlets

On the perimeter concourses and within the Food Court Areas in the Andrews Bowen International Arena, there are a variety of outlets:


Situated on the west side of Hall One, this self-service brasserie style restaurant and bar will offer a wide choice of hot and cold food and will operate a full English & Continental breakfast until 11.00am, before switching to lunch service with a range of hot & cold courses. Open 8.00am until 9.00pm daily. The bar will be open from 10.30am until 9.00pm.


This area showcases Subway, Deli Carvery, Pasty Presto, Burger Meal Deals and also features a café bar with freshly made soups and baguettes.


This relaxing table service restaurant is found on the arena east concourse and is the perfect setting for quality food and service. Offering a fine dining experience with two and three course menus showcasing the freshest ingredients of the season. Tel 0121 767 3663 Open 12.00pm - 9.30pm daily. Food Courts & Kiosks on the arena concourse offer a wide selection of popular and quality fast food and beverages including snacks, breakfast and lunch options.

Food Kiosks – Staggered Opening from 7.00am – 9.30pm daily.
Bar Kiosks - Staggered Opening from 11.30am – 9.30pm daily.


Offering a range of units, including a Champagne & Seafood Bar, freshly made baguettes, specialised coffees, cold drinks & ice creams. Open 6.00am – 11.00pm daily.

The NEC does not permit picnic hampers, baskets, glass bottles, flasks or canned drinks to be brought into the venue.

Stable Area

The stables and associated areas are 'back stage' and not accessible to members of the public. In the interests of Health and Safety, please do not attempt to enter these areas.

Pushchair Parks

Due to Health & Safety regulations under the venue licence, parents are advised that pushchairs must be stored in the designated complimentary Pushchair Parks while children are watching the show from their seats. (Pushchairs may not be stored in the seating block entrances). Locations will be advised upon entry to the show. Pushchairs are allowed in the HOYS Retail Village.


The use of cameras and any other filming or recording equipment is strictly prohibited in the arenas.


Asthmatics are advised that horses are the predominant feature of this event.

Access to the HOYS Retail Village

The HOYS Retail Village will be open every day from 9am - closing times will vary throughout the Show. Shopping is permitted all day, although entrance to the arenas will be dictated by a valid performance ticket.

For Weekdays only, a "shopping only" ticket is available, allowing access to the HOYS Retail Village.

Rider Signings

Rider Signings will take place on selected days.


For large and bulky purchases there will be a Collection Point within the show for a nominal £1.50 charge. Once an item is purchased, it may be deposited at the Collection Point in exchange for a collection ticket and retrieved at the end of the performance. Please note, the Collection point is for purchases made at the show only.

HOYS Disabled Visitor Information

  • Disabled visitors to HOYS who are travelling by train should disembark at Birmingham International Railway Station, access to The NEC and The Genting Arena is via the bridge-link.
  • All levels of The NEC and The Genting Arena are accessible to wheelchair users, via ramps or lifts. The Piazza main entrance has automatic doors.
  • Tactile signage is fitted in or by the majority of lifts and public areas. Assistance dogs are welcome at the NEC.
  • For vehicles displaying blue badges parking is situated at or near the main entrances.
  • Additional parking is also available, in main car parks, and these are serviced by free shuttle buses which are accessible to wheelchair users.
  • On arrival at the Genting Arena, Traffic Officers will direct you to the most convenient parking area.
  • Please check your tickets for the "doors open time", and arrive in plenty of time. The Genting Arena can be extremely busy before the start of an event.
  • Please inform the venue at the time of booking if you need a wheelchair space or have any special requirements, so that it can be arranged for everything to be ready on your arrival.
  • Manual wheelchairs are available for use within The Genting Arena, free of charge. Please telephone 0121 200 2000 ext. 7191 to book in advance.
  • In addition, the HOYS ringside hospitality structure is accessible to disabled visitors via a dedicated lift.

Ticket validity for entry to the Arenas

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

All tickets are Gold Tickets and are valid for both the Daytime and the Evening performance. Valid for entry into the Arenas (Andrews Bowen International and TopSpec Arena) 15 minutes prior to the first class of the day (See individual performance tickets for exact times). You will not have to leave the building after the Daytime performance although you will be requested to leave your seats.

Saturday and Sunday

Daytime tickets: Valid for entry into the Arenas (Andrews Bowen International Arena and TopSpec Arena) 15 minutes prior to the first class of the day (See individual performance tickets for exact times). On Saturday and Sunday these tickets will be valid until the end of the daytime performance, where upon daytime ticket holders will be asked to leave the Arenas, but may re-access the Retail Village.

Evening tickets: Access to the Andrews Bowen International Arena only will be granted once the daytime audience has vacated the building. At the end of the evening performance, evening ticket holders will be asked to leave the Andrews Bowen International Arena. Evening ticket holders will have access to the Retail Village during the day.

Holders of BOTH Daytime and Evening performance tickets will be required to leave their seats between performances but may access the restaurants and the HOYS Retail Village.

PLEASE NOTE: Your ticket guarantees a reserved seat in the Andrews Bowen International Arena for your chosen performance(s). Other areas of the Show are subject to capacity at all times.
