More than 150 Pony Club teams set out on the route to qualify for HOYS at Birmingham's LG Arena, and the five-rider Warwickshire team came up trumps.

First introduced at the 1957 Horse of the Year Show, the Prince Philip Cup rewards skill and comraderie, with Warwickshire winning the title that went to Strathearn last year.

"It is the most amazing time you will ever have," said Warwickshire rider Isabella Holman-West.

"This has been the best week of my life - I have been training for it over the past eight years . I couldn't have asked for any more from my pony, my team-mates and my trainer.

"To win this has made all our dreams come true."

And Warwickshire team trainer Lisa Davis added: "This means the world. We've worked so hard together, and this is just fantastic. I am very emotional."
