Science Supplements LogoScience Supplements will be making a welcome return as sponsor of Horse of the Year Show’s (HOYS) coveted Ladies’ Hunter of the Year title. The equine nutrition specialist is renewing its association with this spectacular championship, one of the most refined and elegant displays of horsemanship at “The World’s Most Famous Horse Show”, held at Birmingham’s NEC from 8-12th October 2014.

Last year it was rider and producer Katie Jerram, who uses Science Supplements, who stood top of 20 qualified combinations to claim the Science Supplements Ladies’ Hunter of the Year Championship on Dunbeacon –  a horse who is no stranger to the Andrews Bowen International Arena, having also taken the Supreme Horse of the Year title here in 2010.

David Mitson, Managing Director of Science Supplements, said:  “We are delighted to be continuing our support of the Ladies’ Hunter of the Year at Horse of the Year Show. This class demonstrates the traditional values of equestrianism and is always a magnificent class to watch and hotly contested. We are looking forward to another exciting championship in October.

The Science Supplements Ladies’ Hunter of the Year title presents a rare opportunity to witness a large line-up of horses being ridden side-saddle, with competitors dressed in graceful habits.

Judges assess the entrants on the horse’s temperament, looks and manners as well as considering its way-of-going and acceptance of the rider in this traditional style of horsemanship.

To have seized their opportunity to shine under the spotlights at the Birmingham NEC, riders will have vied to qualify between March and September at one of the eligible shows around the country.

The Science Supplements Ladies’ Hunter of the Year takes place on Thursday, 9th October. This year, Science Supplements will also be backing the M&M Working Hunter Pony of the Year championship, which will conclude on the same day.

Helena Pettit, Managing Director of HOYS organiser Grandstand Media ltd, said: “It’s fantastic that Science Supplements has chosen to renew its support of the Ladies’ Hunter of the Year Championship. We are also delighted that it has chosen to extend this sponsorship to include the Science Supplements M&M Working Hunter of the Year Championship.”

Founded by scientist Dr David Marlin – a consultant to British equestrian teams – in 2003, Science Supplements offers a range of clinically proven supplements made with high-grade ingredients. Previously only available to professional yards, riders and trainers, the products were launched nationally in the UK for the first time last year. Its comprehensive range includes support for condition, performance, problem horses, calmers, electrolytes, hoof supplements and joint supplements.
