An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Grandstand Group’s Commercial Department to fulfil the role of Sales Administrator (Ref: SAdmin).
The successful candidate will be expected to work on projects including Horse of the Year Show, the British Showjumping National Championships, and to support the Commercial Department working on projects and initiatives on an ad hoc basis, as directed by the Event Sales Manager/Group Commercial Head.



Location

  • Principally based at the company’s Warwickshire office
  • During events, the applicant will be required, along with the company’s other personnel, at the expense of the company, to be based at the host venue. This currently involves staying at the Birmingham NEC for one week in October

Essential Requirements

  • Good customer service skills - telephone and face-to-face
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritise workload and be highly organised
  • Flexible approach to work
  • Able to work within a team environment as well as being able to use own initiative
  • Good time keeping is essential
  • Attention to detail is a prerequisite
  • Computer literate – MS Word and Excel essential
  • Good mathematical skills 

Duties will include

  • Using of a variety of software packages to produce general correspondence, documents and assist with data entry
  • Answering general telephone enquiries: sales, new leads, specific show information including assisting with exhibition/hospitality/accommodation sales
  • Professional handling of all enquiries and bookings to convert to confirmed business
  • Handling complimentary tickets and show officials' ticket requests
  • Assisting with bookings and administration for the Commercial Department
  • Assisting with pro-active activity mail outs and pre-show mail outs
  • Filing, photocopying and printing various documents
  • Researching sales leads for sponsorship/exhibitions/hospitality/accommodation/Champions' Bar and Season Tickets
  • Work to all deadlines and targets set by the Event Sales Manager
  • All pre-show administration office duties
  • Producing weekly sales reports for the department
  • Generally being involved, under the direction of the Event Sales Manager, with all aspects of the Show’s Commercial Department
  • Undertake any other tasks/duties as may be reasonably required

Tasks at Events

  • Assist in the administration office; answering and dealing with a variety of on-site queries
  • Answer incoming telephone queries
  • Working with the team to deliver all public/client requirements
  • Office administration and data entry duties
  • Generally need to be able to handle a variety of situations/issues at the show (many under pressure)

Hours of Work

  • Full Time (09:00 – 17:00)
  • The applicant must understand the requirement for extra hours (within the basic salary contract) both prior to and during company events
  • Holiday - 20 working days per annum (on a pro-rata basis)
