Rotherwood Rainmaker claims the Equissage Pulse Ridden Partbred Pony of the Year

Rupert Till’s Rotherwood Rainmaker produced a foot-perfect performance to take the title of Equissage Pulse Ridden Partbred Pony of the Year on day five of Horse of the Year Show (HOYS). Rupert’s daughter India rode the pony to success in the third year of the class’ history.

The nine-year-old, by Rotherwood Peter Pan out of Rotherwood Spring Flower, qualified with Jessica  at Stoneleigh Horse Show and the pair have been together for over a year.

Bankswood Jakaranda owned by Mr J and Mrs D Quiney & Brookes finished second with Megan Brookes in the saddle.

The winner of the Best Home Produced award was Lynne Rocks’ Greenbarrow Mr D’Arcy ridden by daughter Phoebe. The pony has been in the family for four years and Phoebe’s elder sister had the ride before being passed to her.

Lynne said: “They do a bit of everything at home including dressage. They also like to ride up and down the banks on the fens, where we are based in Lincolnshire.”

Ponies in this class must be registered with the partbred or Anglo Arab section of the Arab Horse Society and/or the partbred section of the Welsh Pony & Cob Stud Books with a minimum of 12.5% Arab or Welsh blood.
