Osborne Refrigerators Double Harness Scurry: Round Two round-up

The second rounds of the Small and Large Osborne Refrigerators Double Harness Scurry of the Year were as fast and furious as the first, with plenty of cheers for the nippy pairs of ponies filling the roof of the Andrews Bowen International Arena.

In both sections it was a battle for the top spots between Alison Tucker and Jemma Millman.

Round one winner Jemma Millman and her own Tigger & Owl took the honours again in the Small section. They produced an eye-watering round in 50.95 seconds, ahead of Alison with Jeff Osborne’s Woody & Buzz on 53.00 seconds.

Reflecting on both wins Jemma said: “It’s absolutely amazing. Owl was my daughter’s lead rein pony. She has now moved on to first ridden and Owl was broken to drive last year.”

In the Large section it was Alison’s turn to pip Jemma to the post with her own Chip n Dale in a very fast time of 47.97 seconds, ahead of Jemma who finished with her own Piglet & Eeyore in 48.95 seconds.  Jemma took the honours in round one.

Alison said: “Everything I asked them to do today they did.” “We’ve had Dale since a four-year-old but this is only Chip’s second season being driven with him. They gelled from the start.”
