Sky_Sports_Logo.jpgEquestrian fans can enjoy top-class live TV action from Horse of the Year Show (HOYS), “The World’s Most Famous Horse Show”, again this year from Sky Sports. Broadcasting of the action will take place from the Andrews Bowen International Arena at Birmingham’s NEC on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th October, together with special features and comment.

Across the two days, Sky Sports’ live television coverage will allow viewers nationwide to tune into the finals of the most highly-regarded national showing and show jumping championships, top-class international show jumping and an impressive line-up of equestrian entertainment, including this year’s headline display The Musical Ride of the Household Cavalry, presented by Home Farm Hothorpe and the Mulbrooke Stud, and the UK debut of Doma en Libertad with Antonio Fernadez “El Paqueto”.

Coverage will also include live interviews with top riders; behind-the–scenes footage; follow the chest-pumping Virbac 3D Worming Pony Club Mounted Games for the Prince Philip Cup, and the famous Puissance, where riders battle the ever-increasing-in-height red brick wall.

With an unprecedented crew of over 90 staff and 16 cameras on site, Sky Sports will be bringing 6 hours of exclusive live coverage and other highlights to millions of equestrian enthusiasts nationwide who are unable to attend the live spectacle itself on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th October.

Helena Pettit, Managing Director of Grandstand Media Ltd, added: “Horse of the Year Show is a truly unique spectacle blending top competition with amazing equestrian entertainment. We are delighted that, once again, we are able to take the show to a wider audience with televised coverage from Sky Sports. We hope everyone will tune in for more elite competition and enigmatic displays on the days they cannot attend.

“With Sky Sports’ packed schedule, it means we will be live on television on Saturday and Sunday. However, tickets are still available for Wednesday to Friday at the show, meaning fans still have the opportunity to see their favourite classes by visiting the HOYS, alongside top-class equestrian entertainment and a world-famous retail village.”
