Grandstand Media Limited would like to announce that the popular Horse of the Year Show Awards series for showing competitors will once again be recognised throughout this 2016 season.

Since its introduction in 2012 the Awards Series has acknowledged the dedication of the competitors for consistency in the Tagg La Liga Awards and have honoured the efforts of the devoted breeders, who continually strive for excellence in the Kellythorpes Leading Breeder and Kellythorpes Leading Sire Awards.

There are 19 Kellythorpes Leading Breeder and 19 Kellythorpes Leading Sire Awards in total.  These awards are decided using a points system with 10 points allocated to first place, five points to second, three for third, two for fourth and one for fifth.  At the end of the season these awards will be announced, with the Kellythorpes Supreme Leading Sire and Leading Breeder revealed during Horse of the Year Show.

The Tagg La Liga Awards are given to the most consistent horse/pony in each HOYS qualifying section totalling 58 awards.  In each qualifier points are given on a scale of five points for first place down to one point for fifth place.  The points from the whole season, for each horse or pony will be added together at the end of the season giving the overall winners for the category.

Following months of intense competition, the current points league table of the Tagg La Liga Awards are now available for competitors, take a look now here.  This year’s Tagg La Liga winners will each receive recognition in the Horse of the Year Show programme along with a certificate and a branded rug, there are plenty of opportunities to gain points and get yourself on the league table in the remainder of the season.  For a full list of the Horse of the Year Show qualifiers click here.

Show Director of Grandstand Media Ltd, organiser of Horse of the Year Show, Richard Todd said: “The award series has made it possible for Horse of the Year Show to get a real sense of how competitors consistently give their all throughout the season. I am delighted that the hard work of competitors will continue to be recognised and in the coming weeks we will be announcing how the showing wildcards will work alongside this year’s award series.”
