Hoys_RGB_new_logo.jpgA variety of Showing Champions were crowned today at Horse of the Year Showing in both the Andrews Bowen International Arena and the Caldene Arena.

The first Championship of the day to take place was the Sandal BMW Intermediate Show Riding Type of the Year Championship.

Two contenders stepped forward having previously qualified in their relevant division earlier in the day.

It was Kayleigh Catton riding Llanarth Fair Play who was crowned the victor after the final judging. The combination represented the winner of the Sandal BMW 153cm Intermediate Show Riding Type of the Year.

The next Championship to be decided was Britains Farm Toys Mini Show Pony of the Year Championship.

This Championships saw some of the Show’s youngest riders and the winner was Zara Sharpe riding Woodview Ianthe who came forward from Britains Farm Toys First Ridden Pony of the Year.

The Kathleen Wood Children’s Riding Pony of the Year was decided in the Andrews Bowen International Arena with Ellis Taverner-Burns riding Rhos Exception.

Taverner-Burns earned her spot in the Championship by winning the Katheleen Wood 138cm Childrens Riding Pony of the Year Championship

Victoria Hesford won the Virbac 3D Worming Cob of the Year Championship with Randalstown Musketeer marking her second win of the week.

“Dreams don’t happen like this, I am lost for words.

“He’s got so much character, so much charisma and he is a proper stamp of a cob” said Hesford.

The final of the Osborne Refrigerators Double Harness Scurry came to a thrilling conclusion with Piglet & Eeyore, driven by Jemma Millman, from the Section B Large division.

The combination flew around the course to secure the win. I can’t believe it the ponies were absolute superstars”

Romney Marsh Pony Club had an incredible day winning both rounds of the Virbac 3D Worming Pony Club Mounted Games Prince Philip Cup today .

Tomorrow marks the final of the Prince Philip Cup with only one team able to be awarded the prestigious title.




Featuring the most prestigious National Showing and Show Jumping Championships, International Show Jumping classes, Virbac 3D Worming Mounted Games and Osborne Refrigerators Double Harness Scurry Racing, HOYS 2015 is packed with excitement. The 2015 Show will come to spectacular close during the Sunday Evening Gala Performance, which will include entertainment from Britain’s Got Talent sensations The HoneyBuns.
